Work attire?

As you can see these photos were discretely snapped in my office with a tripod and camera. You may question my choice of leather as work appropriate attire but, really, I think the look was smart and stylish.

Let me tell you of the awesomeness of this leather, it is just so beautiful! So Soft! I had to wait six months to wear this since I thrifted it in the summer and I was thrilled to finally wear it.

The yoke front detailing of this pencil skirt gives it such amazing lines and a great fit.

Paired with a tweedy sweater, tasseled necklace, tights and brown boots, I think it totally fits into the category of work attire. Even if it doesn't, I'm still wearing it!

Why I thrift...an awesome orange skirt!

I thrifted this skirt and immediately knew how I was going to wear it. That's not always the case when thrifting, sometimes you pick up something that you otherwise would not have chosen, and then it takes a while to incorporate it into your wardrobe.

In this case the skirt does all the talking and the other things just accompany it.

Black cashmere, black tights, black boots.

Quality essentials that can elevate a $2 skirt. Not that it isn't in it's self quality, it is. Dense wool, fully lined and a flattering drape.

With this title for a post you may have expected more...I thrift because I find gems like this...a simple answer for a longer post I may someday write...

Pre Thanksgiving...brown & black

One facet of blogging I'm still trying to work out is the early setting sun. If I don't get pictures early in the day...I come home and take ones that look like this...yesh.

This is an outfit I wore before thanksgiving but never took the  time to post. I am not very fond of these pictures but, I did like the way the black gingham check came together with the brown pencil skirt.

The bib necklace gave a touch of sparkle and color. Hopefully, off setting the frump factor of the black tights and booties.

All black

Since I typically spend my days cloaked in white, an all black ensemble is a rarity.

I can attribute this outfit to a speedy dressing...I was in hurry, I picked out something to wear, put it on and didn't have time to analyze it or take it off.

I really liked this outfit and it wasn't until I looked at the photos did I realize how dark and stark it was.

It's a good thing I put on that scarf.

Boots!

It is safe to say that I've worn boots everyday since November crashed in on my life!

Boots | Everybody, Everywear

So when I saw that the current everybody everywear featured boots, I had a hard time deciding which post to include.

Here are a few I've wore in the past year as well as just about every recent post...

So, I put together a montage of photos as my ode to boots, I love them...they keep my feet dry, they're comfortable, they go with everything and in upstate New York you'd better invest and love them because for me they are here to stay on my feet until May.

See me Rawrr

I don't think I would have considered myself to be the type that would wear a leopard print dress. That's a lot of print...and quite a statement. I think over time I've warmed up the idea of leopard. First, it was just a belt, then I added a pair of shoes and then another belt and then another pair of shoes...and more shoes. So for a dress to be my first non accessory leopard it was quite a leap!

And I'm glad I jumped!

Wearing the jacket over the dress toned it down a lot and I think that made me more comfortable with my choice.

Purple Pants?

With the weather colder (see the snow on the deck) and darker, my photos have shifted indoors and my husband willingly took these shots for me.

However, I always feel slightly awkward or just silly having him take my picture to put on my "fashion blog".

So please forgive the weird poses and strange looks, they are just hiding my smirks and giggles.

What do you think of the purple pants? I haven't decided yet...

Winter white

Welcome to November.
No, I didn't get hit from a bird above, that my friends, is snow!

And you can see, from there I took my photo shoot indoors.

I took a nod from a few other gals that were carrying their white crochet and lace into fall by pairing it with black.

I really liked the way this outfit turned out. The harder edge of the leather bulked up with the sweater contrast well with the sheerness of the skirt.

And boots!
