Pink and Green

I've worn this color combination before and I really like it so, I am doing it again! (Please excuse the bathroom "selfies".I was alone for my chemotherapy and I wanted to document the outfit!)

The combination of pink and green, to my eye, is so fresh and spring like. And a chambray shirt is always a good choice in my opinion! It is a special shirt, too. A J.Crew chambray popover via a thrift. Compliments to my friend, Jennifer, for finding and gifting it to me. She knows what this girl likes!!!

These shoes were another amazing find, $1 at the end of the semester Worn Again sale...brand new BCBG,  T strap heels with a cool aged copper metallic look with gold accents.

And a cool statement necklace to finish it all off!

Blush

These blush colored jeans popped my way for $2 the last time I went thrifting (thanks for spotting them Emily) and I've worn them about three times in the past week!

Here I paired them with my go to shirt, the button up. And I really like the way they pair with this green fatigue jacket. 

Probably the best thrift of the outfit are these Sebago docksiders.  I've been patiently looking and waiting for a pair of "boat" or "deck" shoes for the past year or more and I finally found a pair that were the quality I wanted and are like new and my size!

Wig-ed Out

I thought it might be fun to document here what I look like with my wig on. 

 I have to admit, I haven't used it in public!

I feel funny like someone will think "who's she trying to fool, that's not her real hair, hee hee". But, in some ways it is a little comforting to see myself with hair again!

Look, I've felt well enough this week to work in my gardens and the weeds are gone and the mulch looks fresh. Stay tuned for the peonies and iris blooms!

Rock in' the ROC

Today is my second cycle of chemotherapy at the Regional Oncology Center (ROC). My husband took these photos while I was waiting to see my oncologist.


Thanks to all of you for your prayers and continued support as I battle this disease. You all put a smile on my face with your love and words of encouragement.


I've been fighting nausea and fatigue as well as a cough and cold since my first infusion two weeks ago. I hope that explains my absence...I actually feel good today so I think it is important to highlight these moments!

Printed Jeans

I've been on the look out for some printed jeans and I found a pair in 2013! 

On a recent trip to Target to return some Christmas items, I was flipping through the sales racks and came upon these maroon and blue patterned skinnies. 

For a trendy item like patterned jeans I don't necessarily look for quality and instead look at the price point. For $6.68, these fit the bill perfectly!!

I tried to elevate the overall quality of the outfit with Frye boots and a J.Crew chambray.

Topped off with my Brooklyn Industries Utility Jacket and cross body Coach purse, I felt well put together and hip! But, sometimes an outfit lacks a thrift.

Blue Velvet

I love blazers, they pull a simple outfit together. I picked this blue velvet one up a few years back on a post Christmas J.Crew sale. I paired it simply with a white shirt and some colored jeans, put on a necklace and popped the cuff for some color contrast.

I quickly snapped these pictures in my office...I look so weary...it's that mountain of grading that I've just finished tackling!

Purple Pants?

With the weather colder (see the snow on the deck) and darker, my photos have shifted indoors and my husband willingly took these shots for me.

However, I always feel slightly awkward or just silly having him take my picture to put on my "fashion blog".

So please forgive the weird poses and strange looks, they are just hiding my smirks and giggles.

The Blues

In my effort to do a subtle pose in front of the tripod and camera, I come off looking rather blue in this photo.

But, I'm not. Who could be sad when they thrift a pair of cobalt colored jeans brand new with the tags still on for $2.00??

I was pretty surprised when I spotted these and then thrilled when they fit. They are regular length so I cuffed them rather than have them look too short!

It works as a fun casual outfit; pairing them with a thin floral top, leaf earrings and gladiator sandals.

Oops, I've done it again!

So, I swore I would not post another chambray shirt outfit on my blog....

But, I just can't stop wanting to wear this shirt...and, my husband came home and said "you look nice, I like your outfit!"

So, I did it again!

I think this just shows the versatility of this item of clothing and,

it gives me an excuse to show off these brand new leather gladiators I thrifted for $2 and my thrifted, colored jeans.
