No Jorts

Here's the outcome of my latest DIY project.

think the real (and maybe only) trick to making a great pair of jean shorts is to have a great pair of jeans!

I poked around quite a few blogs for information and DIY tips on making jean shorts and thought I had gleaned all the pertinent information.

Off I went to the thrift store and found a pair of dark wash jeans in a larger size so I didn't have the edge of the jean pinching into my thigh and also so they gave off a more relaxed look.

Pretty simple, huh?

Well, I think that my execution is just fine. I think I'm just not happy with the overall fit and that is only due to the jean choice.
So, a word of wisdom when making jorts; only use a pair of jeans that you look gorgeous in. And if you do, then you'll have yourself a great pair of jorts.

Jeans: Talbots-thrifted
Shirt: J.Crew-thrifted
Shoes: Converse-thrifted

Linked up today for Friday's Fancies at Long Distance Loving. This is my daily beachy chic!

  1. Cute! Love the jorts - I have a pair that I wear almost daily :D

  2. You look so comfy and on the go! :) I have jeans that I barely use or just too big for me (worn when I was pregnant, lol)...I think I should do this diy thing. Thanks for sharing!

    It's me kaye!

  3. a+ job on the DIY! found you via the link up and am excited to follow along xo

  4. I think your jorts turned out great! My pair of DIY shorts was made from my first pair of designer jeans, and my favorite pair of denim to date... so I definitely agree that the key to flattering jorts is an amazing pair of jeans to start with!
